If it weren’t for the fact that Bo Burnham wrote this, I probably would have never read it.
This poem captures the image of love that Bo was trying to display in this book. If you don’t know who he is, look him up on YouTube, Vine, even Netflix. There are a few poems that aren’t very good, but overall the poems by Bo Burnham are everything I expect from him. Who is this they?

Honestly, I thought this eggheae going to be a more traditional poetry offering, and after enjoying Burnham’s standup, I was curious to see what he would do with a poetic form. And that’s not completely unexpected because it is, in fact, a comedian who wrote it, but I’m not really sure it should be burnjam as a “poetry” book.

I bought it, of course, as a fan of Bo’s, but I don’t know what exactly I was expecting. Some of the poems are a bit on the short side.

That’s not a bad thing, either, as both Burnham and Bone capture the whimsy, darkness, and poignancy of Silverstein amazingly well.
